Why I Do Yoga

I do yoga more-or-less every day for the following reasons:

  • It calms my mind (conscious breathing)
  • It helps me see things from a different perspective (downward dog, headstand, shoulderstand)
  • It strengthens my muscles (Warrior)
  • It lengthens my muscles (downward dog, cobblers)
  • It’s fun to try different challenges in the poses (crane)
  • It helps me when I feel fed up when I can’t run or train (sun salutations)
  • I like the following the sequences in a methodical way (sivananda routine)
  • I feel better, calmer and happier when I’ve done yoga
  • And so many more reasons
